The Georgia Dental Association (GDA) is seeking a Director of Continuing Education to fully manage GDA’s continuing education programs for our member dentists and their auxiliary staff. This position also ensures 100% compliance with continuing education guidelines issued by the American Dental Association and Georgia Board of Dentistry, so meticulous record keeping and development of sound processes/procedures for the department are essential. We are looking for an individual with the will and desire to grow the GDA’s CE offerings and ensure successful programs for our members.
The role requires an efficient and resourceful individual with excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. The ideal candidate would be experienced in program compliance, project management and educational program planning. This position requires proven experience with continuing education programming. Association experience is also required, and experience in medical or dental would be beneficial.

Responsible for goals/plans associated with GDA Continuing Education (CE)/Education and Training (E&T) programs
Functions as the ADA Continuing Education Recognition Program (CERP) program manager, adhering to CERP guidelines and ensuring compliance
Serves as staff liaison to the Education and Training Advisory Council and responsible for reports to the association leadership on Education and CE activities
Manages and meets goals for existing CE programs and identifies new opportunities for CE
Responsible for the creation, development and execution of an annual educational program plan and strategy, inclusive of budget requests
Stays current with continuing education trends and recommends/implements innovative new CE ideas and delivery methods
Collaborates with marketing department to promote programs and increase attendance/revenues
Coordinates CE speakers and educational programming for the GDA Annual Convention
Responds quickly to member inquiries providing excellent member service
Able to move programs/projects along efficiently and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
Organized self-starter who is able to manage multiple projects and prioritize workload
Interacts professionally with internal staff and external volunteer leadership
Able to develop and manage annual department budget
Strong writing skills with an ability to prepare clear, concise reports and documents
Demonstrates attention to detail, flexibility and independence
Proficient in Microsoft Office including ability to mail merge
Bachelor’s degree required (related field preferred)
3+ years’ association experience required (health-related field preferred)
Must have experience with continuing education programming
Experience working with committees/task forces required
