This is a writing job with competitive benefits and a starting salary range of 50K-60K. The Communications Manager is a critical member of the Strategic Communications department. This position sits within the Content and Communications team and is responsible for managing all newsletters, and writing, editing and curating content in pursuit of our goal to make EO the thought leader in the entrepreneurial space. In addition, the manager supports media relations and social media activity as required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Write, edit and curate articles on members and entrepreneurial topics for the Octane blog, EO’s Inc.com column and other distribution channels
Write association guidelines, scripts, presentations and reports including EO’s Annual Report
Provide editorial support to the marketing team
Collaborate with Marketing/Communications Manager on social media campaigns
Manage EO Press Pass, EO’s online resource for connecting members with reporters
Work with the PR Director to provide content and guidance to external PR agencies
Manage freelance writers and the content they produce
Write, edit and manage the distribution of EO’s suite of regular member and external newsletters
Speech writing for EO Global Board and CEO
Attends team and organizational planning meetings and other events as required (some travel involved).
Liaises with freelance writers and editors.
Other duties and assignments as necessary.
Must be an excellent proof-reader and editor
Bachelor’s Degree in Literature, Communications, History or relevant field
5-7 years of work experience in writing, editing, and social media, preferably with a non-profit association
Mastery of the MS Office Suite, with an emphasis on Word and PowerPoint
Ability to develop and execute social media/public relations strategies
The Communications Manager should be comfortable working with high-level businesspeople. International experience a plus.
