The Association of Pool & Spa Professionals is seeking a Sales Manager for our Education and Membership Departments.
The successful candidate will:
Contribute to the development of an agreed upon sales plan which will meet both personal and business goals of expanding the base in all APSP commercial and residential education and certification programs
Be responsible for all follow-up Professional Pool Service Operator (PPSO) sales activities and customer service, from lead generation through closing
Strategically manage in-bound leads, identify potential customers, and work with the Director of Education and Membership to generate new education business in the specified territory
Qualify prospects to join the Association
Participate in the development of a department business plan focused on achieving membership growth and non-dues revenue growth.
Education Department Responsibilities (90%)
Effectively communicate key product features and benefits to prospective customers virtually through phone calls, emails, product demos and presentations
Promote/sell/secure orders from existing and prospective customers through a relationship-based approach.
Maintain strong, ongoing working relationships with existing customers in order to enhance the customer experience resulting in future sales and referrals.
Thoughtfully research sources for developing prospective customers and for information to determine their potential and generate new prospects
Manage existing accounts at various stages of production
Respond effectively in support of the Director of Education to increase the demand of PPSO and other educational programs in the US and abroad
Membership Sales: (10%)
Assist Director of Membership in identifing prospective companies as potential members of the association
Execute sales process and outreach to attain new association members to meet association goals
Attend APSP Meetings, networking events and conferences, as required
Establish a year-round trusted relationship with an assigned book of business and acquired members
Conduct Association Member Annual Review (AMAR) calls/visits 90 days before each renewal
Utilize all available resources to enhance membership experience to secure retention
Monthly Welcome Calls (new members who joined the previous month)
Monthly Lapsed Calls (members who have lapsed the previous month)
1-4 years of experience in sales/customer service.
1-4 years experience in membership, education, training materials, and certification a plus.
Strong understanding of customer and market dynamics relationship.
Proficient in Outlook, Word and Excel programs.
Must have working knowledge of a CRM database or similiar.
Dexterity with Adobe Suite desirable.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to multitask.
Travel required (10%)
