The New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPA) and its Foundation for Accounting Education (FAE) are seeking a Professional Education Specialist. The ideal candidate for this position should be an experienced, take charge professional with the ability to manage administration and logistics of multiple events. This person must be able to anticipate project needs, discern work priorities, and meet deadlines with little supervision.
Assist with budget development.
Negotiate and secure conference venues.
Support committees in determining conference topics and agendas.
Create events in database.
Manage event logistics with venue, vendors, speakers, etc.
Prepare agenda, evaluation and other support materials.
Develop speaker agreement and coordinate necessary logistics.
Coordinate technical review of conference materials with committee to ensure program meets technical requirements.
Prepare registration materials for conference i.e. sign-in sheets, nametags, etc.
Monitor conference registration.
Serve as onsite manager at conference.
Reconcile attendance and ensure proper education requirements are met and documented.
Review and process expenses following conference.
Collaborate with marketing department on promotional strategy.
Gather conference feedback and communicate to committees.
Document lessons learned and share with manager and team.
Prepare committee meeting notes/minutes.
Coordinate articles from speakers and committee members to assist in in promoting conferences.

Bachelor's degree required
Meeting planning certificate a plus
Minimum of 5 years event planning experience.
Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Strong communication, negotiation, and customer service skills.
Ability to work in a team environment and independently.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and database management.
Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
