Specific roles and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Work with marketing team to support the development and implementation of membership promotional initiatives and campaigns including, member recruitment, retention, and engagement strategies.
Collaborate with FMS team on the overall creation and execution of marketing and communication strategies for FMS products and services including direct mail and other print collateral, e-mail communications, digital video content, and social media messaging.
Assist and support the management of the FMS social media strategic plan and marketing calendar through planning social posts, creating reports, and identifying areas for additional outreach.
Work closely with marketing to manage FMS Connect, the association’s online networking community, and execute engagement strategies, such as marketing automation and gamification, to help keep the community active and robust.
Research and maintain active list of key press/media contacts to be used in various public relations and communications efforts.
Assist the Manager, Creative and Digital Strategy with various website updates as needed, specifically with regard to FMS chapter microsites.
Provide information and service, as well as miscellaneous tasks to FMS members as required.
Performs special projects as assigned.
The Intern, Marketing and Membership reports to the Director of Marketing and Membership and provides support to FMS’ entire marketing team. Qualified candidates are currently enrolled in college/university courses with a major in marketing, communications, social media, non-profit management, or related field.
Ideal candidates are proactive, self-starters who are detail-oriented, and able to manage their time and multiple deadlines efficiently. Candidates should also possess strong oral and written communication skills, as well as a desire to learn all facets of association management. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, HTML, and various social media applications is also preferred.
