The Program Manager will participate in the development, implementation and management of several workgroups and committees. This position will facilitate and coordinate several committee meetings annually across the United States.
Manage, coordinate, and facilitate meetings for committees and workgroups within the Safety Department.
Provide a non-competitive forum for the exchange of ideas and experiences for participating committee representatives.
Record meeting minutes; compile information for, and maintain a comprehensive database; and, disseminate information within and across regions and other identified committees.
Develop a strong knowledge of issues important to the Safety department and industry representatives.
Provide input and recommendations on how to build, improve, and streamline the programs in the Safety department.
Maintain strong working relationships with AFPM member company representatives.
Perform other duties as assigned Senior Director, Health and Safety, or other relevant management personnel.
Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of five years’ experience relevant to this position or prior experience in program management and/or project management working with a trade association, industry, or in federal or state government.
Experience with committee facilitation in a trade association or similar industry.
Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently is strongly desired.
Be self-motivated, proactive and able to quickly assess and follow-up on issues as they arise.
Exhibit outstanding written and oral communication skills.
Be able to think strategically and to translate that strategy into tactics and implementation.
Ability to prioritize, plan, organize and carry out multiple assignments effectively to achieve multiple objectives within a tight deadline.
Able to respond quickly to changing priorities and circumstances.
Possess exceptional attention to detail, including ability to proofread and fact check accurately and quickly.
Proficiency with all Microsoft Office programs.
Excellent work ethic and an ability to work well in a team environment.
This position will require a significant amount of travel.
