A trade association in Arlington, VA is seeking a Technical Support and Training Specialist within our Information Technology Department. Principal responsibilities will be providing first response desktop and mobile device support to roughly 200 users via phone, e-mail, and in person for two offices as well as remote staff. This position will monitor all incoming support requests, tracking through to completion and escalating as necessary. Additional responsibilities will be enrolling new users in the network, conducting user training on all desktop applications, maintaining departmental documentation, updating inventory as well as coordinating other training as needed. Special projects as requested. After hours and weekends is sometimes required. Successful candidates will be capable of troubleshooting and resolving routine device (Windows and MAC) issues and have an advanced understanding and working knowledge of Remote Desktop Services, Microsoft Office Suite, Active Directory, E-FAX and Dell KACE ticketing system.
Position requires excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills; ability to work under pressure with a variety of user and vendor groups. This position requires organization and project management skills while working independently and being remotely managed.
Practical knowledge, skills & abilities usually acquired though an undergraduate degree in computer science or a minimum of 3-5 years of related work experience.
Avaya telephony and voice mail system experience desirable.
Minimal lifting is required.
