Produce, project manage, and curate high quality education and professional development programs to enhance the ability and increase the knowledge of occupational, safety, and health professionals. This position reports to the Director of Professional Development.
Develop, manage, and curate continuing education and professional development programs that meet the needs of occupational, safety & health professionals with a focus on virtual/e-learning programs.
Plans and organizes the schedule of virtual, blended, and classroom-delivered events for the Society, including topic and curricula selection.
Responsible for the selection of instructors and speakers for educational events, both online and classroom-based.
Ensures that instructors follow ASSE Professional Development educational standards in the creation of their materials.
Ensures that all ASSE education meets the criteria outlined by IACET for the issuance of CEUs.
In cooperation with the marketing department and the Director of Professional Development, provides input into marketing plans and pricing strategies for educational programs and products.
Plans and develops a schedule of educational events, including webinars and virtual symposia.
Solicits and reviews proposals for virtual events.
Prepares and negotiates the contract proposals for education seminar leaders and instructors.
In conjunction with the Conferences and Meetings staff and marketing department, is responsible for selection of dates and locations for scheduled educational events.
Is responsible for developing criteria for Requests for Proposals for educational events and preparing instructor contracts.
Identifies the necessary resources and submits proposals for the update, revision, and development of educational curricula consistent with the identified professional needs and competencies of the safety professional.
Moderates and administers ASSE webinars and live virtual events.
Travels to and administers seminars/symposia at various sites.
Manages the educational development budget for assigned programs, and provides input on budget goals with input from appropriate departments.
All activities are performed in liaison with the Council on Professional Development and the Director of Professional Development.
Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in Adult Education or Instructional Technology a plus.
Five to seven years of experience; demonstrated ability to develop adult educational training programs in both the virtual and traditional classroom.
Three to five years’ experience administering and moderating events in a virtual classroom environment.
Experience in eLearning development a plus.
Experience administering a Learning Management System a plus.
Experience in a membership and/or professional association a plus.
Knowledge of the training market and/or technical areas, specifically safety-related field, a plus.

Excellent skills in Microsoft Office applications, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and other applications.
Ability to work M-F during normal business hours.
Ability to travel to meetings and/or annual conference.
