Organize and assist in the dissemination of technical, management, and economic information about the metalcasting industry.
Maintain technical, management, and economic information about the metalcasting industry.
Respond to inquiries from members and other inquirers in a timely fashion.
Select, order, catalog and classify special collection of technical books and articles.
Maintain digital library database.
Archive all AFS copyrighted material both digitally and in hard copy.
Assist customers and staff members in research.
Maintain copyright compliance.
Research and develop opportunities for optimizing Library Services.
Provide liaison assistance to special technical committees in the area of publication updating, scheduling and production.
Disseminate information on Technical and Library Services.
Coordinate the annual student/FEF Student Technology Contest.
Monitor web based committee media site. Assist with AFS social media strategy.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills or Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree, demonstrated aptitude for research, comfort working with statistics. Highly organized, sensitive to deadlines, and able to multi-task. Proficient in Microsoft Office, customer service, public speaking. Background in library sciences and/or exposure to manufacturing / metalcasting industry are a plus. Must be able to read and write in English. Must be self-motivated and possess the ability to work independently and in a team.
Required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger or feel objects, reach, balance, stoop. Vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
The work is classified as Light Physical Demand Level (PDL) by the US Dept. of Labor’s Dictionary of Occupational Titles. Frequencies: Occasional (1-33%); Frequent (34—66%); Continuous (67-100%)
Lift up to 20 lbs. on an occasional basis floor to waist.
Carry up to 20 lbs. on an occasional basis up to 25 feet.
