The National Association of Home Builders (NAHB), a Washington, DC based trade association, is seeking an outgoing and organized professional who will direct the development, coordination and implementation of programs and services that NAHB provides to advance networking and professional development for HBA executive officers (EOs). This individual serves as a liaison between the EOs and NAHB senior staff and volunteer leadership. In addition, he/she ensures that EOs are aware of current and developing NAHB resources and member opportunities as well as tracks EO requests and other information to further refine program development.
Qualified candidates should be strategic, collaborative and possess excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Candidates should be able to work and develop relationships with executives/CEOs managing state and local associations. Candidates should effectively manage competing priorities with flexibility and work well under pressure. Candidates should also be able to manage projects with tight timelines and within budget while providing onsite support to meetings, education events and networking mixers.
A minimum of four years of experience in association management, preferably in a service-oriented membership organization and a minimum of two years of supervisory experience, including budget development and management, are required. Demonstrated project management experience is highly desired. Previous experience aggregating, analyzing, reporting and interpreting data on program usage, performance and qualitative feedback is helpful. Knowledge of survey/analytics tools (e.g., Magnetmail, Tableau) and list serves (e.g., Higher Logic) is preferred, but not required. Candidates should also have demonstrated skills in writing, editing and producing publications and other communication pieces. A bachelor’s degree in Communications, Business Administration or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
