Washington Metropolitan Chapter Community Associations Institute (WMCCAI) is seeking an experienced Communications Manager and Editor. This is an exempt, professional position with responsibility for planning and executing print and electronic communications, conducting advertising sales, and growing our public presence through social media, public relations and marketing initiatives.
SUMMARY OF KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Manages communications related budgets
Manages editorial and production aspects of monthly magazine, annual resource guide, and biweekly enewsletters
Manages advertising sales
Leads development of annual advertising, sponsorship and fundraising brochures
Develops promotional material for individual programs, events, and other chapter services
Serves as a staff liaison to communication-related committees
Manages chapter website and works to develop new features and capabilities
Maintains and grows our social networking presence
Three years of related experience, with at least two years while working for an association or nonprofit organization
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES
Strong computer skills including MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe
Strong writing, editing, and media skills
Knowledge of WordPress, HTML, and CRM database
Understanding of how to use social media to accomplish organizational goals
Ability to handle multiple overlapping projects
Ability to work under pressure, solve problems, and meet deadlines
Knowledge of public relations techniques and AP style
