CompTIA is currently recruiting for Manager, Member Relations for IT Professional Association. The association CompTIA launched in early 2017 a new professional association for technology professionals and students “from resume to retirement.” The association will offer individual membership to professionals and students with the goal of helping to start and advance their careers in the technology sector.
The Manager role will assist the Director of the IT professional association in integrating the AITP membership with CompTIA association for IT professionals. The manager will be actively involved in all start-up planning and implementation, managing the membership base, working with chapter groups nationwide, and promoting programs and benefits.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Work closely to the director to implement the member strategy for the new association.
Support the Director in executing a member relations plan with the goal of high member satisfaction levels and to carry out the organizational mission.
Participate in membership forecasting and planning in an effective manner.
Work with the marketing staff to help deploy recruitment, retention, and the communication strategies.
Serve as a resource to IT professional association chapters to monitor implementation of best practices and chapter activities.
Help to develop a strategy for pipeline of the IT students and young professionals.
Collaborate with member relations and customer service teams to support current member inquiries.
Generate new ideas to drive national membership efforts.
Ability to pull reports from the database management system; collecting, analyzing and reporting on data that will help with member and prospect activity.
Understand and communicate value propositions to key prospects.
Identify and define member business needs and determines appropriate CompTIA solution.
Assist with the Executive Council, Chapter leadership, and other governance structures when necessary.
Attend industry conferences to identify member recruitment and retention opportunities.
Other duties may be assigned.
Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, or a related field or equivalent experience.
5-7 years of experience.
Knowledge of professional societies and trade associations is desirable as is experience in a nonprofit setting.
Having implemented a member engagement strategy, a priority, as is a proven ability to work with volunteers and staff.
Demonstrated tact, diplomacy, ability to multi-task and excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
Ability to work well with staff, volunteers, and others. Flexible, creative, friendly, detail-oriented and able to work in a fast-paced team environment.
The candidate must be proficient in MS Office. Working knowledge of iMIS database, Sitefinity website content management systems, and social media platforms preferred.
