NRF is seeking a Director, Member Engagement to lead the development, execution and evaluation of the member engagement strategy, ensuring member engagement objectives align with NRF’s goals.
The successful candidate will possess intellectual curiosity, embrace open collaboration, and take an energetic approach to fulfilling our mission.
Develops and implements strategic member engagement plans, with short- and long-term objectives, to achieve the Association’s goals
Recommends strategy and owns day-to-day project management of special member engagement programs and key meetings that take place during NRF conferences
Oversees and strengthens online community forums, including assessing their efficacy and improving members’ experiences
Collaborates with education team to develop content, secure speakers for conference, as well as business meetings and events
Regularly reviews the delivery of member programs, products and services, including communications vehicles
Analyzes research on member engagement, prepares recommendations and develops and oversees implementation plans for adopted recommendations
Collaborates with the partnerships and sales team during opportunity assessment and proposal phases, particularly as it relates to deployment approach, timeline and deliverables
Works with communications team to recommend and assist with the development of effective communications tools for member engagement
Works with the communications team to ensure website functionality and content supports member engagement
Investigates and recommend database initiatives and protocols to ensure that member information is current, accurate and enhances member engagement, retention and recruitment
Performs other duties as assigned
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, communications, or other related fields
Minimum 7 years’ experience in program development and relationship cultivation
3+ years in progressively responsible supervisory/management roles
Ability and willingness to contribute at both strategic and tactical levels
Demonstrated ability to plan, create and grow new initiatives based on strategic assessment
Experience in conducting research and reporting on results
Experience in survey development and implementation; strong ability in analysis
Proficiency in the use of databases for managing association membership information
Ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Experience in managing projects and delegating tasks to support staff
Strong communication skills (both written and oral)
Ability to represent the organization in a professional networking capacity
