Edison Electric Institute, one of the nation’s premier trade associations, has an outstanding opportunity for a Deputy Editor and Senior Content Strategist. The Deputy Editor will manage the day-to-day development of EEI’s bi-monthly Electric Perspectives magazine in print and digital formats. This includes developing the production schedule, writing and editing content, overseeing vendor relationships, and researching emerging trends. The Deputy Editor will also support the development of a variety of communications materials including talking points, issue overviews, presentations, speeches, newsletters and infographics. Additional responsibilities include providing communications assistance during storms and other emergency events.

The successful applicant will have a college degree in public relations, mass communication, journalism or a related field and at least five years of experience in magazine production, editing, and writing at a trade association, public-relations firm, or government office. Energy experience is a plus. Applicants must demonstrate expertise in project management, publication workflow, graphic design and online publishing. The ability to write persuasively and quickly, synthesizing complex information for multiple audiences, is essential.
