The Plastics Industry Association (PLASTICS), is the only organization that supports the entire plastics supply chain, representing nearly one million workers in the $404 billion U.S. plastics industry. General Summary: This position performs the critical function of processing all membership and renewal applications according to PLASTICS standards. The incumbent will ensure that member and non-member database records are up to date and accurate. Working closely with the membership team to understand and respond to member needs.
Review, monitor, and process new and renewing member applications.
Verify and cross-reference applications with existing records to ensure accuracy in setting up new records to consolidate and prevent duplicate records from being created. Build out member rosters.
Provide excellent customer service to members and other staff at all times.
Track the renewals status and process.
Member communications are a central part of PLASTICS day-to-day business. Staff member will be expected to treat member communications, both written and verbal, as a top priority. Prepare welcome emails, be the main contact to establish membership, and set the stage for onboarding.
Generate invoices and monitor payments, in conjunction with the finance department and membership team. Assist with creating and maintaining membership data reports and tracking.
Manage mailings, including mail merges, labeling and stuffing mailings.
Assist with preparation of new member PDF applications.
Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred.
Prior association and/or non-profit, experience especially in membership, is mandatory.
Experience with member and association management databases and CRM, is mandatory. PLASTICS uses iMIS 20, strongly preferred.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite/Office 365, with advanced Excel skills is essential.
Keen attention to detail, taking an analytical approach to ensure database integrity.
Strong organizational, time management, excellent written and verbal communications skills.
Actively promote a membership and customer service culture throughout the organization.
Experience with iMIS 20, strongly preferred.
Experience in a similarly sized trade association is mandatory.
