The Vice President of Education & Services is responsible for the overall successful execution of all goals related to two the strategic pillars of the association which are:
Educate Industry Professionals by providing access to the best knowledge, skills and leadership practices to advance the careers of lawn and landscape professionals; and
Set the Highest Standards by propelling businesses to reach new heights through our nationally recognized programs.
This position works closely with the CEO, board of directors and councils, to lead strategic initiatives toward strengthening efforts in carrying out the mission and assuring the association’s long-term growth and sustainability. Provides day-to-day oversight and direction in the use of financial, human and technology resources to effectively and efficiently achieve association goals and enhance overall organizational capacity and performance. This position oversees a team of 5 individuals who focus on our educational events, webinars, certification, company accreditation, apprenticeship, safety, awards and publications.
DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develops the plan for education and programs to deliver strategic outcomes set forth by the Board of Directors
Oversees development and management a $2.5M budget for all components of educational events and programs
Determines educational programming delivery models, including new initiatives/platforms, suitable to audience and subject matter, such as webinars, podcasts, online learning portals, etc.
Provides leadership to ensure exemplary content development of all programming related to the association’s main annual educational events
Oversees newly launched apprenticeship program and creates a strong pipeline to train professionals coming into our industry and works with key state stakeholders
Oversees strategic partnerships to ensure growth within our programs
Communicates on a regular basis with CEO and Board of Directors on progress toward educational strategic goals.
Works closely with Education, Highest Standard and Certification Councils
Post-graduate degree or CAE (Certified Association Executive) designation preferred
Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Association Management or Business Administration or comparable highly related educational background.
15 years-plus experience in non-profit management
Experience in instructional design and/or organizational development
Highly strategic person with ability to act as both a visionary and executor of plans – i.e., must understand, develop and manage steps to ensure execution of goals
