Consistent with the mission, vision and values of National League of Cities, plan, recommend, and implement digital marketing campaigns and activities to achieve overall digital engagement strategy and goals.
Digital Campaign Design and Execution
Plan digital marketing campaigns in collaboration with the DEMC and Programs teams. Define and agree on objectives based on the desired communications, marketing, and/or program goals.
Plan digital marketing campaigns that leverage digital platforms to drive revenue.
Design and implement creative ideas to execute campaigns based on industry best practice, past successes, and industry research. Solve challenges while adhering to the goals and objectives established for the campaign.
Develop marketing project plans and timeline. Identify key stakeholders and deadlines that must be met to successfully deploy campaigns on time. Manage projects to completion, escalating issues to DEMC leadership for resolution when needed.
Take all steps to maximize the reach and benefits from ongoing campaigns. Measure and monitor the progress of assigned campaigns against set goals. Identify and recommend changes to campaign strategy and/or approach to address areas of concern as needed.
Build and send marketing emails in support of digital programs and campaigns.
Prepare and distribute progress reports for ongoing campaigns to stakeholders.
Answer and address questions regarding ongoing campaigns.
Digital Content Coordination
Coordinate the development of content, graphics, and other materials with DEMC team members and third-party vendors as appropriate. Collaborate with customers and internal teams on content development. Agree on approaches for messaging in alignment with overall NLC strategies, goals, and current initiatives.
Edit and revise content produced by other members of the DEMC and Programs teams for posting through NLC digital platforms.
Collaborate with DEMC team members to maximize SEO optimization and content functionality.
Understand and embed the NLC brand and voice in all content.
Analysis and Improvement
Compile and analyze data on digital marketing efforts. Identify trends and patterns that can be used to enhance the success of current and future campaigns.
Use research and data to evaluate the impact of digital messaging to continuously improve marketing programs.
Identify opportunities for new and engaging digital content. Prepare and present ideas to DEMC team members for consideration.
Keep current with emerging digital technologies and incorporate enhancements into NLC platforms when appropriate.
Review and analyze feedback received through website, social media, and other avenues to identify content and engagement gaps. Address issues in close collaboration with the other members of the DEMC team.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or a related field
Minimum of 3 years of applicable work experience
Advanced working knowledge of Sitecore, SharePoint or similar and enterprise-level CMS experience preferred
MS Office skills (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
Knowledge of SEO and content optimization
Working knowledge of the content development cycle
