The Wisconsin School Counselor Association (WSCA) is seeking an Operations Manager to provide operational and strategic leadership in collaboration with WSCA leaders. We are looking for someone to join the small but mighty paid staff and work with amazing volunteer leaders.
This is a highly visible role which demands exceptional customer service skills, a high level of professionalism, and ability to effectively interface with association leadership regarding the conditions and operations of the organization.

The WSCA Operations Manager will be a strategic thought-partner, and report to the executive director (ED). The successful candidate will be a hands-on and actively involved in the following areas: finance, business planning and budgeting, human resources, administration, marketing and IT. Guided by the WSCA ENDS, the Manager will be responsible for supporting events coordination, membership development and retention, administrative support, and service to both internal leaders, members and stakeholders. This individual will play a collaborative role in developing and implementing systems that increase the effectiveness and efficiency of our work and supporting our ability to grow and expand. Minimum Qualifications and Selection Criteria
5-7 years’ experience in a professional environment; preferably with an association management company or industry trade association experience. Account management experience required with a successful track record in event planning, financial management, volunteer management, sponsorship development, exhibit coordination, and supporting strategic planning. Proven membership/revenue growth experience.
Innovative and resourceful; actively seeks opportunities to take a leadership role in improving association programs, events, policies, and procedures.
Proven ability to inspire volunteer productivity, set clear expectations, and willing to roll up your sleeves and pitch in to help when needed.
Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external partners as well as support stakeholders with flexibility, collaboration, and positivity.

Communication, Collaboration, and Problem Solving
Comfortable in a fast-paced environment and able to prioritize and manage multiple projects and tasks with the ability to meet deadlines. Excellent problem-solving capabilities and resourcefulness under pressure.

Strong knowledge of MS Office, Google Suite, Project Management Software, Email Marketing, Graphic Design.
Experience with member management software (FileMaker Pro preferred), event registration and PayPal.
Experience with Quickbooks Online
Experience with website maintenance and database integration (WordPress).
Education and Credentials
Associate degree or bachelor’s degree in related field.
Desire for ongoing professional development.
Valid driver’s license and regular access to a vehicle; willingness to travel to sites for meetings and events activities.
Ability to work occasional nights and weekends with some travel.

This position has a great deal of flexibility most of the year and is a salaried/exempt position at 80% time (32 hours/week). Attendance at Saturday Director of Operations meetings (approximately four per year) and travel with overnight stays required for the Director of Operations Leadership Development Institute and the WSCA Annual Conference. Peak times during conference and events that will require significantly more hours than average.
The Operations Manager position will be based out of Madison, Wisconsin with the possibility of a partial remote schedule.
Annual salary range depending on qualifications and years of experience is $40,000-$48,000 per year.
