This Marketing and Communications Manager position is designed as a role that allows the right individual to utilize market information and key strategies in order to advise our clients on how to help them achieve their marketing goals.
The Marketing and Communications Services (MCS)unit provides a variety of services to our client organizations, including branding, creative services, public relations, membership publications, and convention and event marketing that go beyond the successful execution of program and campaign deliverables. Our team partners with association leaders and other volunteers to develop year-round marketing and communication campaigns that support the overall objectives of the organization. We then measure the effectiveness of our efforts to continuously hone the optimal mix of marketing communication methods, tactics and resources year in and year out.
The Marketing and Communications Manager will have responsibility for actively managing approximately 4-6 client organizations. The candidate will design, execute and track compelling marketing strategies incorporating both digital and tradition means. Strong day-to-day management of all campaigns, resources, tactics and relationships is critical, in addition to being able to demonstrate a collaborative mindset in delivering client service.
What You Will Do:
Lead &/or contribute to the development of marketing &/or communication plans for various client organizations. Areas of focus and development may include: market assessment and analysis, objectives and key strategies, identification of new tactics and channels, and tactical metrics/evaluation.
Oversee &/or lead the implementation of plans including organization and delegation of project roles/responsibilities; manage performance of assigned team ensuring quality of delivery & product, reporting and budget management.
Competency in digital marketing strategies and tactics including SEO, SEM and content marketing.
Play a hand's-on role in creating and overseeing the implementation of campaigns and plans, this may include information gathering, writing, copy-editing and production management.
Client budget development and management.
People management and development.
Develop and maintain key relationships, these may be with team member and clients.
You have the ability to travel 10% of the time.
BA/BS required (concentration in Integrated Communications or Marketing preferred).
6+ years total relevant professional experience in marketing environment to include proven managerial skills.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Proficient in budget/financial management.
Strong project management skills.
Knowledge of HTML, Word, Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
Experience in a matrixed environment (agency experience preferred).
Experience work for an AMC or standalone association
Proficiency with basic computer programming, including the Microsoft Office Suite, HTML, social media channels (Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn, Twitter).
