Nurse Practitioner Associates for Continuing Education is the nation’s oldest provider of nationally accredited CE for NPs, currently offering 10 live primary care and pharmacology conferences for 400-500 participants at exciting destinations across the United States. NPACE is searching for an experienced, passionate team-player to serve as Director of Conference Planning. The individual will oversee the Conference Planning Department, its staff and all aspects of conference and event planning.
Position responsibilities include:
Oversee meeting planning and logistics for conferences and events including contracts, space, food & beverage, audio visual, vendors, special events, materials/supplies, shipping, etc.
Oversee travel arrangements for staff, speakers and volunteers
Serve as NPACE representative at external conferences and events, including pre- and post-conference meetings
Assists Finance Department and Executive Director with conference budget development; tracks and maintains conference budget expenses
Collaborate with Marketing to promote events
Analyzes data related to conferences and events and reports results and recommendations
Conduct site inspections to determine feasibility of future conference locales and provide recommendations for locations, dates, models, templates and contract terms
Works closely with Department of Education to oversee speaker process
Serves on the Program Development and Planning Committee to ensure accreditation compliance
Supervise, coordinate and assign activities to staff in department and communicates regularly with other departments to provide conference information and resources
Interview job applicants and make hiring recommendations
Evaluate staff performance to recommend personnel actions such as hiring, retention, promotion, transfer or dismissal
Train, instruct and develop staff
Bachelor’s degree in business or related field
Certified Meeting Professional certification required
Minimum 5 years conference planning experience
Minimum 2-3 years supervisory experience
Proficient with database systems and event management software
Proficient in word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software programs
Must be willing to travel frequently
