Alexandria, Va.-based 36,000-member organization with small staff seeks highly motived and team-oriented advertising sales and exhibits/sponsorships manager. ASCA is located in Old Town Alexandria, however, relocation to the Washington, DC area is not required.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
For advertising sales--
Promote and market advertising in bimonthly print magazine, multiple enewsletters, website, captive social media site and other print and electronic media
Develop annual sales goals for all media, as well as new non-dues revenue opportunities
Work with communications/marketing staff to develop annual media planner and other sales material as needed
Work with staff members to develop advertising opportunities related to other association activities
Maintain database of all advertisers; develop and grow prospect list
Develop runsheets for all media; manage all ad trafficking and receipt of materials
Track digital ad performance and report to advertisers
Develop performance and billing reports
Perform additional responsibilities for advertising, as assigned
For exhibits sales--
Promote and market exhibits and sponsorships for annual conference of 3,500 participants and 200 exhibitors
Develop annual sales goals
Work with communications/marketing staff to develop annual exhibitor/sponsor prospectus and other sales material as needed, including refining and enhancing sponsorship packages and benefits
Develop exhibitor service kit
Serve as primary liaison with exhibit hall decorating company that includes the following responsibilities:
Secure Decorating Vendor, issuing an RFP as required by association policy
Confirm exhibiting layout and Fire Marshall/venue approval
Review and approve all decorator signage orders
Coordinate load-in/load-out and other exhibitor servicing details
Maintain database of all exhibitors/sponsors; develop and grow prospect list
Develop floor plan for exhibit hall; assign booths based on exhibitor preferences
Develop priority/booking system to honor strategic relationships with partnering organizations for exhibit hall space selection
Work with exhibitors/sponsors to ensure delivery of all necessary materials, forms, etc., including information for conference app and website, ads for special issue of magazine, bag inserts (including stuffing), etc.
Create schedule for Career Session at annual conference
Serve as primary on-site liaison to exhibitors and sponsors, including exhibitor registration and coordination of all activities in exhibit hall
Develop performance and billing reports; process payments for exhibits
Participates in site visits for conference preparations.
Perform additional responsibilities for annual conference, as assigned
For sponsorship sales--
Develop annual sales goals in collaboration with other sponsor and partnership staff, including development of new or additional sponsorship opportunities
Generate and service high-level sponsorship contracts in coordination with other sponsor and partnership staff, including negotiations, contract language, approval fulfillment and post-delivery evaluation;
Promote and market sponsorships for annual conference and other association programs and services
Work with communications/marketing staff to develop sponsor/partnership prospectus and other sales material as needed, including refining and enhancing sponsorship packages and benefits
Maintain database of all sponsors; develop and grow prospect list
Work with sponsors to ensure delivery of all necessary materials, forms, etc., including information for conference app and website, ads, bag inserts, etc.
Develop performance and billing reports; process payments for sponsors
Perform additional responsibilities for sponsor activation, as assigned
Demonstrated experience in sales/managerial role for advertising sales and/or exhibit/sponsorship sales in the association environment.
Demonstrated experience and success in using technology as a management tool.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communicator with customer-service orientation, and ability to build and maintain long-term relationships with advertisers, exhibitors and sponsors.
Ability to work as part of a small team, specifically to integrate sales and marketing efforts throughout the organization
Telecommuting is allowed.
