The Association for University and College Counseling Center Directors (AUCCCD) is seeking candidates for the position of Executive Director (ED). This is an exciting opportunity to lead AUCCCD in pursuit of its vision to be the premier professional organization for higher education leaders for student mental health. Reporting to AUCCCD’s elected Board of Directors, the Executive Director guides the overall operations of the organization pursuant to the Association Bylaws and Strategic Plan.
Contribute to the vision and strategic leadership for the association
Serve as a principal resource to the governing board, association managers and key committees, assisting them in matters of policy formulation and interpretation
Implement the policies established by the Board of Directors through the administration of the organization and its activities
Implement strategies for advocating on behalf of members and the collegiate mental health community with elected legislators and appointed government officials
In conjunction with the Treasurer, ensure the association’s finances are properly and effectively managed
Ensure the association is structured to maximize its ability to deliver its services
Occasional evening and weekend work. Travel is required 4-6 times per year
Outstanding leadership, management and administrative skills (required)
Proven oral and written communication skills (required)
Prior experience as the director of a college or university counseling center (preferred)
Not for profit/association management and membership development experience (desirable)
A public relations/communications background (desirable)
Telecommuting is allowed.
