The purpose of this job is to contribute to the success of our members, volunteer Chapter Leaders and co-workers.
This position is responsible for advancing ACHE’s organizational goals through outreach and engagement of key stakeholders including Regents and Chapter Leaders. The Regional Director serves as a consultant to their stakeholders to guide and enable progress toward ACHE goals.
1. Chapter Activation 60% of Time
Serve as the primary staff liaison to assigned District(s) and provide guidance, assistance, and resources to chapter leaders to foster alignment with ACHE’s vision and mission and strategic plan through visits to each chapter.
Grow, strengthen and engage ACHE chapters by providing guidance on chapter operations. Assist in planning and executing strategies that align with ACHE goals and provide a consistent member experience across all chapters.
Identify and match chapter needs and opportunities with ACHE resources. Inform Chapter leaders about ACHE’s strategic initiatives, programs, products and services, and chapter support tools designed to assist in fulfilling their volunteer roles.
Collaborate with chapter leaders to help develop and deliver chapter programs, products and services that promote and enhance ACHE membership.
Develop and implement customized membership recruitment, retention and advancement plans to support membership growth and engagement.
Provide quarterly reports on chapter activities to divisional management team and facilitate inter-divisional involvement where it supports ACHE initiatives.
Consistently evaluate chapters on established measures and proactively manage performance to promote consistency across the chapter network.
2. Regent Support 15% of Time
Assist Regents in assigned district(s) to fulfill their roles and responsibilities related to serving on the Council of Regents, advising the local ACHE chapter(s), reaching out to the local healthcare community and facilitating communications between ACHE and the local healthcare community.
Staff a Spring (Congress) and Fall (Chapter Leaders Conference) in-person District Meeting and two District post-Board meeting teleconferences (Summer & Winter).
Support Regents in their role as advisor and champion for chapter(s) in their jurisdiction.
Provide staff support to Regents performing their duties related to Communication and Visibility, including distribution of a quarterly Message from Your Regent electronic newsletter, sending welcome/congratulations letters to new members, Fellows and recertified Fellows.
Assist with presenting Regents Awards at selected local events.
Partner with Regents in their Healthcare Community Outreach duties and expectations, including outreach to chief executive officers and other senior-level healthcare executives.
Maintain contact with programs in the Higher Education Network through email and phone communication to assure synchronous communications are occurring between the chapter and program.
3. ACHE Field Representative Responsibilities 15% of Time
Articulate the value of ACHE membership to target audiences in the district, including CEO’s, Early Careerists, clinician leaders and students.
Working with the local Regent, liaise with state, regional, metropolitan associations to share information, align activities and identify partnership opportunities.
Asist in the creation of planning and implementation of chapter-based and national membership recruitment and retention programs within assigned districts.
4. Other Responsibilities 10% of Time
Provide strong and effective leadership to all assigned districts and to ACHE staff.
Assists with any special projects as directed..
Completes other job related duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
Master’s degree in business administration, healthcare administration, or related field required.
Ideal candidate will have professional experience working with not-for-profits and volunteer leaders in a sales, account management, business development, or consulting capacity.
Minimum of three years’ experience in a related field, preferably with experience in chapter relations
Understanding of volunteer management and cultivation.
Must have strong skills and capabilities in written and verbal communication, time management and organization, data analysis and planning, and information technology. Must be comfortable and adept at presenting to large group sessions.
Must have strong customer service and teamwork orientation.
Ability to effectively use standard office tools (Microsoft Office).
Ability to memorize a wide variety and type of information.
Ability to make decisions.
Judgment to recognize and respond quickly and appropriately to elected leader and chapter leader behavior and concerns.
Ability to travel. (60% or more.)
