Coordinator, Sustainability, Outreach and Industry Statistics

The American Chemistry Council (ACC), a national trade association representing the world’s leading chemical and plastics manufacturers, currently has an opportunity for Coordinator, Sustainability, Outreach and Industry Statistics for its Plastics Division. ACC represents its members on public policy issues; coordinates the industry’s research and testing programs; and administers Responsible Care®, the industry’s environment, health, safety and security performance improvement initiative.
This position is responsible for assisting in the delivery of the Plastics Division’s communications and sustainability initiatives as well as the Plastics Industry Producers’ Statistics program by managing office procedures and work-flow, processing check requests, keeping track of team budgets, and managing subscriber accounts for statistics reports. The position is also responsible for coordinating with various staff and departments within ACC to ensure consistency in delivering work product, efficient processing of contracts and contract payments, and regularly drafting and facilitating clearance of external communications. The position reports directly to the Senior Director, Sustainability and Public Outreach. Other duties include supporting management and oversight of budget and accounting, including coordinating membership dues, maintaining contract files, and tracking subscriptions and membership; monitoring coverage of plastics issues and legislation in traditional, social and digital media and preparing daily clips and monitoring summaries; providing support for sustainability programs, as needed; and providing administrative support to the staff including managing the subscriber database, managing department and committee meeting logistics, maintaining department expenses, and drafting various correspondences.

Required qualifications include an Associate’s degree or equivalent experience, Bachelor’s degree preferred, and at least three years’ general office procedures/management and standard business practices experience, trade association, customer service, or professional office management experience preferred; two years’ experience in database management, contract management or related experience; ability to prioritize issues, projects, tasks, and information requests and to manage multiple projects, tasks and use appropriate judgment in evaluating such situations and issues’ and working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access a must. Additional Salary Information: ACC offers medical, dental, vision as well as 401(k) matching contribution up to 6% and a 6% contribution to the Profit Sharing Plan, both vested immediately at 100%.
