Training Department Assistant

As the Training Department Assistant in our Bowie, MD office, you will be responsible for coordinating training classes (On-site & Virtual) for the International Association of Arson Investigators (IAAI). This is not a teaching position.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and support all training programs through effective planning, preparation, execution, and evaluation.
  • Organize, schedule, and track training events
  • Coordinate content, communication, and engagement
  • Manage the training activities by utilizing MemberSuite database to schedule classes, participants, materials, tracking course participation, completion, and course evaluations

Competencies and Job Requirements:

  • Association experience preferred
  • Effective planning, organization, communication, and financial reporting
  • Problem-solver with attention to detail
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to interact at all levels
  • Ability to prioritize and organize effectively
  • Self-motivated, independent worker, and team player
  • Ability to quickly adapt to new software programs
  • Familiarity with AMS databases (MemberSuite Preferred)
  • Proficient in MS Office applications, especially Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Adobe Acrobat Writer
  • Consistently at work and on time
  • Ability to work past scheduled hours if needed
  • Able to travel up to seven days two times per year, plus additional travel as needed
  • Sense of Humor

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Salary: Negotiable based upon Experience 
  • Medical, Dental & Vision insurance
  • Office Hours: 8:30 am – 5:00 pm, Monday-Friday
