Manager, CHILD Health Registry

Exciting opportunity to be a part of this new endeavor at the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP)! 

This new manager role will start off acting as a project manager to launch a pilot program and then eventually move into managing  all aspects of the newly established CHILD health registry development, implementation, and participant onboarding; assist with the development and testing of onboarding materials for initial pilot sites; provide customer support to basic queries from registry participants, including assistance with data connections and solving first line user problems; work with AAP registry team to ensure all necessary data quality control measures are in place and assist with the execution of data management activities according to AAP registry data quality standards and project timelines; and support the implementation of clinical data management processes with AAP member practices, hospitals, and healthcare organizations ensuring completeness, accuracy, and consistency of data.

Qualifications needed:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline or an equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience required. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or other project management certification/training preferred.
• 3-4 years’ related experience managing electronic health records (EHR) and/or medical/health-related registry required, including importing/exporting data from EHR systems and supporting cloud-based computing platforms.
• Experience managing projects supporting and communicating with multiple stakeholders, providing technical assistance to users, and knowledge of health data privacy and regulatory requirements required.
• Understanding of data validation, analytics, and/or quality performance measurement required.
• Experience within a pediatric health care setting strongly preferred.
• Strong technical acumen essential with proficiency in MS Office, databases, cloud-based platforms, EHRs, and the ability to learn and apply new technologies; knowledge of data interface platforms (eg, FHIR HL7, C-CDA), web based technologies preferred (eg, REST services, API, responsive design), web collaboration platforms (eg, SharePoint) and web conferencing systems (eg, WebEx) preferred.
• Some travel and evening/weekend work required, along with the need for flexibility in arranging work schedule to accommodate physicians’ availability.
