American Fisheries Society
The American Fisheries Society (AFS), dedicated to strengthening the fisheries profession, advancing fisheries science and conserving fisheries resources, seeks a Membership Manager to oversee membership development, engagement and database administration. Members are individuals from around the world working for state and federal agencies, academia, nonprofits and commercial enterprises as well as institutions located primarily in North America. The Society is organized into two-dozen sections (special interest groups) and over 100 state/student chapters and regional units. AFS recently celebrated its 150th anniversary and was experiencing steady membership growth pre-covid through new program offerings and member-value positioning. In addition to the position accountabilities listed below, AFS is looking for a bright professional to bring new perspectives and approaches for understanding and responding to member needs. With staff and an active membership committee, AFS seeks to strengthen individual and organization member retention, recruitment and engagement through program marketing and associated development activities. These efforts will be supported through analytical reporting, trend and survey analysis and other tools for monitoring member preferences, composition and demographics. Principal Accountabilities:

The successful incumbent shall possess strong database, report query and analytical skills with a flair for accuracy and meeting deadlines, be customer-service focused and have exceptional project management skills. Bachelor degree with 5 – 7 years membership development and administration experience. |
