We are seeking an energetic team member with a passion for learning to help move our professional development programming to the next level. Our team provides training, information, mentoring, and peer support for chamber of commerce professionals who work in a variety of areas, including membership sales, fundraising, event production, DEI, organizational and community leadership, operations, economic development, and more.
Creativity, a can-do attitude and the ability to jump in and help where needed will be key attributes of a successful candidate for this position. You will need to be comfortable interacting with our members, subject matter experts, and content providers in live and web-based contexts and will use your innovative mindset and tech skills to craft high-quality learning products. Our members are community leaders from across the country and around the world, and our work helps them build thriving and prosperous communities with opportunities for all.
Development of web-based learning products including eCourses, online seminar series, webinars, toolkits, and other learning tools. We will also be expanding our offerings to include hybrid learning opportunities and certifications incorporating both live and on-demand content and peer support. We will look to you to take a major role in building and advancing these goals.
Design and oversight of our live webinar series, including topic development, scheduling, and speaker outreach and management. You will need to be comfortable reaching out to potential presenters within and outside our organization and collaborating with content experts on our staff. You will also facilitate webinars, online seminars, roundtable calls, and other peer-to-peer learning opportunities.
Production and editing of digital learning content.
Management of our online learning platform including development, review, and curation of online content to ensure the highest level of quality and relevance to our members and their communities.
Assistance indeveloping curriculum for live virtual, hybrid, and in-person learning conferences, including session building, speaker outreach and assistance, on-site management of sessions, and planning and managing networking and social activities included within the conference experience.
Assistance in managing our Certified Chamber Executive program, including program communications and outreach, assisting program participants, and help in tracking the many details required for the program’s success.
Provide support for professional development marketing by working in conjunction with the communications team to develop marketing outreach for programs.
Bachelor’s degree, with an additional three or more years of experience working for an association or membership organization, preferably in a professional development or online learning role. Your education and previous work experience should have prepared you to be a creative and critical thinker, a quick adapter to new technologies, and an excellent writer with strong verbal skills.
Demonstrated skills in evaluating, organizing, and synthesizing information.

Strong interpersonal and customer service skills and professional demeanor.
Demonstrated ability to work on multiple projects concurrently and collaborate productively with other team members.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
Experience with and strong skills in public speaking and meeting facilitation.
Proficient in Microsoft Office products. Comfortable using digital and social media platforms and video conferencing tools including Zoom, MS Teams and GoToWebinar.
Experience with digital editing tools and online learning platforms including ours (Path by Blue Sky eLearn) strongly preferred. Demonstrated ability to adapt to and master new technologies.
Experience with, or curiosity about, chambers of commerce and the professionals working in the chamber community a plus. This includes interest in chamber missions around community impact initiatives. There will be opportunities for you to develop subject matter expertise in one or more of the areas in which we provide professional development and training.
Able to work remotely as needed. Our team works both at our Alexandria, Virginia headquarters as well as remotely from locations across the country.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit. The employee is occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds or to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Specific vision abilities required by this job include near vision, mid-range vision, depth perception, color vision, and ability to change focus.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to operate a computer including performing actions with repetitive motions. Approximately 80% of time is spent looking at a computer terminal. Some travel is required (2 – 3x per year).
