The American Society for Dermatologic Surgery is a national medical specialty organization with over 6,000 members, a $7.5 million combined budget and 25staff located in Rolling Meadows. ASDS supports its members through educational opportunities, networking forums, mentoring programs, public relations and branding initiatives, leadership activities and advocacy efforts (through the ASDSA).
The IT Manager is primary responsibility for ASDS IT systems, Database, solutions and technology project management. The position reports to the Director of Finance and Administration and supports internal clients throughout the ASDS organization.
Participate in projects that involve creation of business flow, code set up, report set up, documentation, data editing and integration. Work with directors and end users to develop complete and accurate business requirements. Develop and deploy any project plans and training needed to ensure business requirements and user acceptance has been met.
Perform maintenance and enhancement of a Microsoft Access database with linked SQL Server tables, queries, forms, reports, macros, and code modules”.
Fulfil data requests, develop and implement data analysis queries and reports as needed utilizing agreed upon procedures and business rules.
Use basic SQL query skills to develop queries and procedures that answer business questions and resolve data integrity issues. Troubleshoot data processing issues and perform data fixes to maintain data integrity.
Write Standard Operating Procedures to Document IT processes both for staff and as a function of vendor management. Maintain shared archive of documentation. Train staff in IT and Data processes as needed.
Proactively support departmental leaders by identifying pain points and recommending IT solutions.
Vendor management including reviewing contract and budget with Legal and Finance; renewal or termination of contracts. Defining SLAs, timelines, etc. Managing the ongoing relationship including communicating needs, ensuring contracts and agreements are well defined and kept up to date and that organizational standards are maintained.
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
At least three years of data manipulation/analytical support experience. Familiarity with ODBC-compliant database systems.
Experience with Access, Excel, and SQL Server tools required.
Experience working in relational databases, including creating and updating tables, importing and exporting data. Experience with report generation, mail merges, and chart generation.
Ability to develop SQL queries in order to join tables, dedupe records, create calculated fields, filter results and format output.
Experience with CRM and association management systems a plus.
Experience in associations a plus.
Excellent communication and organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines required. Service-oriented individual who works well in team settings.
