The Technology Manager’s role is to lead technology operational planning to achieve business goals by fostering collaboration, innovation, prioritization of technology initiatives and coordinating the evaluation, deployment, and management of current and future technology systems across the organization. The Technology Manager will develop, plan, and manage the technology--related activities of the organization, as well as provide administrative direction and hands-on support for daily operational activities. The Technology Manager will work with staff and stakeholders to identify internal and external technology solutions that increase the quality and sustainability of the programs and increase productivity and success of the ACSM staff. This position will also define and implement technology policies, procedures, and best practices. The Technology Manager will coordinate technology needs assessments, recommend, and provide technology training to staff. This role will be local to Indianapolis. Remote work with frequent travel to Indianapolis would be required. Relocation may be offered.
Leads and performs operational and strategic planning for technology, including fostering innovation, planning projects and organizing and negotiating the allocation of resources.
Ensures necessary support of ACSM’s AMS (association management system) iMIS ecosystem including the operational effectiveness of integrated application software (i.e. RiSE, Informz, iCohere LMS) to enhance the members’ digital experience through vendor management and supervision of Application Manager.
Works with staff to determine effective technology solutions for meeting both strategic and operational needs; meets with individual departments to discuss needs and solutions before projects are approved, ensuring that selected solutions integrate with other ACSM systems as necessary and meet best practices for technology standards.
Responsible for the strategic direction and management of all infrastructure systems, including disaster recovery, information security, cloud services, telecommunications, data storage, to support the day-to-day business operations.
Stays apprised of current knowledge, information, trends, and best practices with current and future technologies.
Benchmark, analyze, report on, and make recommendations for the improvement and growth of the technologies that ACSM uses.
Serves as leader on the Technology Steering Team to advise staff on technology related initiatives.
Manage consultants, vendors, and service providers.
Manage financial aspects of the technology department, including purchasing, budgeting, and budget development and review.
Develop business case justifications and cost/benefit analyses for technology spending and initiatives.
Develops and maintains a Disaster Recovery Plan. Ensures that backup, recovery, and security procedures are set-up and performed as planned and necessary.
Negotiate, audit and administer vendor, outsource and consultant contracts and service agreements.
Work with ACSM’s managed service provider to maintain asset management for technology hardware, software, and equipment.
Establish and maintain regular written and in-person communications with the organization regarding pertinent technology activities, including training as needed.
Facilitate training for staff on technology solutions.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field required.
Minimum of 3-4 years of technology related work experience in a challenging and creative environment required, in an association is preferred.
Experience leading direct reports preferred.
Experience with database management required. Experience with association management systems is preferred.
At least 2-3 years of managing complex vendor relationships is required.
