The Maryland Association of Nonprofit Organizations (Maryland Nonprofits) is one of the largest and most successful state associations of nonprofits with over 1,200+ organizational members and 20 staff to serve them. Maryland Nonprofits mission is to strengthen organizations and networks for greater quality of life and equity.
Maryland Nonprofits is the primary resource for advice and assistance on nonprofit management issues for the state’s nonprofit community. We see equity and quality of life as our “north star” and we are working on internal, programmatic and advocacy levels to advance an equity agenda. We conduct training programs and provide technical assistance in most areas of nonprofit management subjects; promote opportunities for information sharing and networking and represent the interests of our members and the nonprofit sector before the General Assembly, Congress, and local governments. We are recognized across the nonprofit sector and among policymakers, the media, opinion leaders, and the general public, as the leading representative of and the authoritative source of information about the state’s nonprofit sector.
Maryland Nonprofits is growing and has several organizations under its umbrella: Standards for Excellence Institute, Maryland Association of Resources for Families and Youth (MARFY) and Maryland Latinos Unidos.
The Vice President is the # 2 position in the organization and will be responsible for broad organizational leadership, including external relations, fundraising and operations.
Duties and Responsibilities
Fundraising: Provide leadership to for our Board of Directors, development consultants, and staff team on fundraising strategy and on foundation and government funder relationships. Grow the fundraising function into a fundraising department.
Organizational Development: Design and lead our 2022 strategic planning and organizational redesign process, including hiring external consultants and engaging internal and external stakeholders. We are seeking a leader who will center equity, community voices and shared leadership.
Operations: Provide leadership for the growth of our organizational operations to expand our current team focused on membership, marketing, technology, finance, customer service and human resources.
Bachelor’s degree and 15+ years of experience in the nonprofit sector, and 5 years of senior leadership experience.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, strong analytical ability and organizational skills.
Strong commitment and track record in justice, diversity, equity and inclusion.
$90,000 - $130,000, commensurate with experience. Competitive benefits package.
